Tonight I want to tell you about the water. The same that is 95% of the Earth, 75% of our bodies. Water that is present everywhere - oceans, rivers, icebergs, lakes, rain, steam, fog, frost, dew, snow, waterfalls. The water in the strongest element - tsunamis, floods, torrents, bringing destruction. In the drop digging the stone. In the throat giving life. The water that remembers, but also that erases memory. Water as a livelihood for sailors, fishermen, oceanographers. Water as a place to live for hundreds of thousands of inhabitants. Water with dozens of faces and conditions. Refracting light and light. In obtaining energy, but also in the most favorite children's games. In a puddle reflecting the sky, in a city built on the water, in a splashed cup of coffee. Variable, occupying the form in which it is poured. In superstitions and legends - holy water, drunk water, silent water. And in watercolor - my love.
I want to tell you about water in an exhibition dedicated to it.

First individual exhibition "The wind brings memories"
November 4th, 2014, art centre 'Tvorisimo' - Varna, Bulgaria The wind is a carefree bird. It flies everywhere, sees everything and sometimes it steals scents, leafs, feathers and leaves them at unexpected places. The wind carries foreign memories as well as it's own. The scent of mowed hay, the tall sunflowers, that it wandered through as a child, the memory of a carefree sea and of a father's hat... The first individual and independent exhibition of Elitsa Karabashlieva. "Watercolour is a strange technique, which is difficult to subject and mater, but this exactly brings the element of fun and an unexpected outcome. Watercolour is both magic and poetry. I have been painting for three and a half years with watercolours, but I have completely devoted myself with love and patience to this incredible painting technique." - Elitsa Karabashlieva |
